About Me
I am a medical Speech-Language Pathologist dedicated to improving the lives of adult and geriatric populations affected by neurological injury, disease, and complex medical conditions. My clinical expertise focuses on the evaluation and treatment of communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders resulting from stroke, traumatic brain injury, concussion, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, multiple sclerosis, and other progressive neurological disorders.
I have extensive experience providing rehabilitation across the continuum of care, including acute care, long-term care, skilled nursing facilities, and post-acute rehabilitation settings. Throughout my career, I have helped individuals regain the skills necessary to communicate effectively, swallow safely, improve cognitive function, and maximize their independence and participation in daily life. I believe rehabilitation extends beyond treating impairments. It is about restoring dignity, promoting independence, and improving quality of life.
My practice emphasizes evidence-based care, comprehensive assessment, and individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique goals and medical needs. I collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, dietitians, social workers, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care. I also provide education and training to families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams, equipping them with practical, evidence-based strategies to support recovery and long-term management.
Beyond direct patient care, I am passionate about advancing the profession through education, research translation, clinical innovation, and quality improvement. I strive to bridge the gap between emerging evidence and everyday clinical practice while advocating for accessible, equitable, and high-quality rehabilitation services that improve outcomes for individuals with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
My Mission
My mission is to advance evidence-based rehabilitation through education, collaboration, and innovation.
I am committed to translating research into practical strategies that strengthen clinical practice, improve transitions of care, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, expand access to high-quality rehabilitation resources, and support continuous quality improvement. By empowering healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and communities with trusted, evidence-based knowledge, I strive to improve patient safety, functional recovery, independence, and quality of life for individuals living with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
My Vision
I envision a future where evidence-based rehabilitation is accessible, equitable, and seamlessly integrated across every stage of care. Through education, advocacy, collaboration, and innovation, I aspire to cultivate a healthcare community that embraces lifelong learning, strengthens interdisciplinary partnerships, and continuously advances rehabilitation practices. My vision is to empower healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and communities with the knowledge and resources needed to help every individual achieve their highest level of health, independence, participation, and quality of life.
